Washington Credit Union Remembers Veterans by Working with MOMS on Visa Gift Card Program

Mothers of Military Support Give Cards to Veterans in Need

Longview, Wash., May 25, 2007 – Mothers of Military Support, Inc., (MOMS) of Longview, Wash., has launched an innovative program to help provide VISA Gift Cards for use by veterans in need and their families. MOMS is working in conjunction with Lower Columbia Longshoremen's Federal Credit Union. The credit union is covering the operating expenses of creating the prepaid gift cards while MOMS raises donations to fund this effort.

Mothers of Military Support offers these gift cards to veterans and their families who have an urgent need for assistance. “Visa Gift Cards are a perfect payment format for our military personnel because they are more secure than cash and more convenient than checks or vouchers since they can be used at virtually any U.S. retail location as well as overseas,” said Elizabeth Johnston, President of Mothers of Military Support.
