PSCU Financial Services Recognizes Four Credit Unions

Call center provider also receives FSCC Globe Award for Outstanding Service

LAS VEGAS, June 10, 2009 – PSCU Financial Services the nation’s leading financial services CUSO and provider  of Total Member Care, its 24/7 call center operations for credit unions, honored four truly innovative credit unions at San Dimas, Calif.-based Financial Service Centers Cooperative Inc’s (FSCC) 2009 annual meeting in Las Vegas that best utilized its custom call center to enhance member service in the last year. Hawaiian Tel Federal Credit Union, University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union and Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union, which are all based in Honolulu, and Kealakekua, Hawaii-based Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union received the Call Center Innovator award.

These credit unions conducted cultural training to better align Total Member Care service representatives with the needs of their members. In response, Total Member Care adopted Hawaiian elements to its call center services, including island-themed hold music and a cultural-focused custom training regiment as well as other solutions to ensure the members of the Hawaiian credit union community are given the level of care and service to best fit their needs and expectations. The awards signify the four credit unions’ collective effort to deliver a seamless transition for its members to Total Member Care’s mainland call center.

“Each year, PSCU Financial Services recognizes credit unions that find unique ways to maximize member service through our round-the-clock call center operations,” said Peter Schmitt, executive director of PSCU Financial Services. “This year, we chose to acknowledge the exceptional member care of Hawaiian Tel, University of Hawaii, Hawaii USA and Hawaii Community Federal Credit Unions. By encouraging implementation of cultural elements from their state, these credit unions created a system to make members feel more comfortable with, and thus more likely to use, our call center services. We are looking forward to celebrating the quartet of credit unions at our upcoming August 26 Industry Insights Summit to be held in Honolulu.”

PSCU Financial Services’ Total Member Care business unit also received the 2009 FSCC Globe Award for Outstanding Service, which honors credit unions and industry partners who demonstrate exceptional service and a commitment to shared branching. Through its 24/7call center and software solutions, Total Member Care processed nearly 3 million shared branching transactions in 2008.

“The Globe Awards honor those organizations who go above and beyond to provide outstanding service, and PSCU Financial Services continues to prove itself as a leader in the credit union industry,” said Sarah Canepa Bang, president and CEO of FSCC. “Since our credit union network extends worldwide, our members need access to a reliable call center that is available at all times, and Total Member Care provides an invaluable resource.”
