Air Force Personnel Tour PSCU Financial Services’ Network Operations Center

Air Force Base to Use Knowledge Gained As Part of Building IT Operations Center

St. Petersburg, FL, Jan. 22, 2007 –Representatives of the MacDill Air Force base recently toured PSCU Financial Services’ Network Operations Center and spent a day learning how the cooperative designed and built its high-tech center, as well as created its efficient staffing and workflow processes.

Leslie Guyette and Dawn Ralston both received a personal letter from Major Richard Black, U.S. Air Force, acknowledging the value of the tour.  “After seeing and discussing our operations center in detail, Air Force personnel said their intention is to adopt a similar design for their information technology operations center. They complimented us on the level of technical and operations excellence that is built into our center,” said Ralston.

The NOC monitors and reports on the cooperative’s network, systems, applications and over 1,500 desktops at the St. Petersburg and Phoenix offices.  It takes the center just 10 minutes to recognize and address any failures—an improvement of 300% over previous monitoring methods. The center is staffed 24 x 7 every day of the year.

“This center is a vital but unseen link that enables us to maintain network connectivity with and fulfill processing and other functions for the 500+ credit unions we serve without interruption. We have made a major investment in this center to ensure that we can continue to maintain and even improve our level of service in the future,” said David J. Serlo, President, PSCU Financial Services.
