Franklin Mint FCU Enjoys Benefit of CUAlways™ Support During Recent System Conversions

PSCU Financial Services Speeds Implementation to Assist Members as Credit Union Changes Key Service Providers

St. Petersburg, FL, April 24, 2006 – Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) of Broomall, Penn., was originally scheduled to begin using PSCU Financial Services’ CUAlways™ member services support solution at the end of February 2006.  But with sweeping changes planned for its online services, the credit union decided to implement the program ahead of schedule to help with an expected increase in member inquiries and requests for service.

“Initially, we planned to implement CUAlways after the conversion of our home banking, bill payment and web site providers,” said John Hargrove, FMFCU Vice President .  “We thought the extra effort involved in bringing CUAlways up might overload our staff during a very busy time. Instead, after speaking with the CUAlways team, we decided having the service up and running would actually assist with the conversion. That proved to be an excellent decision for our staff and our membership.”

CUAlways allows credit unions to expand their call center hours to provide members with 24/7 coverage. The service can also be utilized during emergencies. FMFCU currently uses CUAlways to handle its after-hours and weekend requests for member services. Because of the structure of previous contracts with its home banking, bill payment, and web site providers, FMFCU needed to convert each of the services to the new provider at the same time. 

“PSCU Financial Services agreed to assist us knowing that our conversion was less than 30 days away,” said Hargrove. “The CUAlways team was able to coordinate and collect all the necessary information in a compressed timeframe. I was impressed at how efficient the process was from start to finish.”

During the conversion, the CUAlways team handled overflow calls during regular business hours and after-hours calls. “The transition was seamless and we were able to assist our 15,000 home banking members through what could have been a very difficult time. Instead, we had a very successful conversion and we continue to be pleased with the quality of the CUAlways team’s performance,” Hargrove added.
