Purchasing Cards

Purchase Cards DemoThe Purchase One Visa card is a credit card for credit unions to authorize certain employees to make business purchases from any merchant or vendor that accepts Visa. Using leading-edge technology, the Purchase One brings multiple levels of purchasing management together into a streamlined process and provides easy access to a variety of reporting tools.

This innovative new program for credit unions provides a web-based platform to support convenient, 24 x 7 access to the following functions:

  • Setting controls and limits
  • Establishing a list of authorized employees and vendors
  • Enhanced reporting using an online record of every cleared transaction
  • Electronic billing and settlement
  • General ledger compatibility with many software applications
  • Enhanced protection against unauthorized or beyond-limits use

As an added bonus, using the Purchase One card allows your credit union to earn rebates based on the quarterly amount transacted on the card.

Flexible Processing Options

In addition, we offer the most flexible processing options in the industry with everything from in-house to full-service options. Your credit union can outsource cardholder contact services to gain expertise and reduce internal operating expenses. With a full-service solution, we handle all cardholder contacts, resolve all inquiries, and track and manage Visa and MasterCard regulations. We also offer an in-house option in which our cardholder contact services are available after hours or during a local emergency, as part of a business continuity plan.

Card Carriers

The first impression is important…

All plastics are mailed affixed to a card carrier for delivery to the cardholder.  In addition to basic card information, card carriers can be utilized as a tool to provide information and/or marketing to the cardholder.  For a new account the card carrier is one of the first communications the credit union has with the new cardholder.  We offer generic and customizable carriers.

What was my PIN???

Cardholders having trouble remembering their Personal Identification Number (PIN)?  Not anymore.  Allow your members the opportunity to select a PIN they can remember.  A mailer can be sent that provides all the necessary information and steps to change their PIN to one they will remember.

Card Activation

Mail Cards with Peace of Mind

Card Activation helps reduce NRI (Never Received Issue) fraud by sending out inactive plastics.  Cardholders receive new and/or reissued cards with a sticker prompting them to call the Card Activation line for verification of receipt and approval to use the new cards.  Cards are activated when cardholder information is verified.

When your members have a question about their statement, credit limit or balance, they want an immediate answer. Courteous, well-trained representatives at our Contact Center address cardholder concerns quickly and efficiently in English or Spanish at any time of the day or night. We resolve more than 10 million telephone inquiries and 400,000 letter inquires each year.

Web Based Member Self Services

Satisfy members who want to self-service by viewing credit card statements online and you can simultaneously encourage use of your credit union’s online banking services with our InfoLinkPlusSM service. This service delivers summary credit card information to a secure Web site that incorporates the logo and look of your web site. Single Sign On is available with several home banking providers, eliminating the need for your members to log onto two sites to view their accounts.

Enhanced Services

  • Pay credit card bills
    This option equips users to make ACH-based payments on any registered credit card account.
  • Receive Credit Line Increase offers
    Cardholders can be pre-qualified for credit line increases and given the opportunity to accept the increase while online. Your credit union determines acceptable parameters for the increase. Accounts are reviewed without member participation; so ineligible users will not even realize that their account has been evaluated. For more information about Credit Line Increase, click here.
  • Activate credit cards
    Cardholders can activate their credit card online if the plastic status code on their account indicates that the card has not been activated.
  • Request PIN mailer
    Cardholders can request an existing PIN for any registered credit card account, which will be mailed to the cardholder address. Each credit union determines a secondary authentication method for use with this feature.
  • Order a replacement credit card
    Cardholders can request a replacement for a damaged credit card, after verifying that the card has not been lost or stolen. A required method of secondary authentication is determined by the credit union.
  • Maintain cardholder account information
    Cardholders can update addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses online after secondary authentication, which is set by the credit union.
  • Order statements for last 12 months
    Cardholders can request a copy of any available statement for any registered credit card account for the past 12 months.
  • Initiate general inquiries about payments or transactions
    Cardholders can click any transaction on the history page to initiate an email inquiry into that transaction. Members can also submit general questions about their account and choose the method in which they wish to be contacted — phone or e-mail.

1x1 PhotoCards allow your members to include their personal photo on the card front. This feature provides Merchants with another ID verification at the point of sale. 2x2 PhotoCards also permit your members to include their favorite photo on the front of the card. No Minimum Order Required on Digital Plastics

A minimum card order is a thing of the past with Digital Plastics. Digital Plastics make it possible for your credit union to offer multiple designs that appeal to all or specific segments of your membership. It’s What’s Inside That Makes Contactless Plastics So Popular

Contactless plastics include a radio-frequency chip embedded in the cards that allow them to “speak” to enabled POS terminals. Contactless targets Merchant locations where speed and convenience are vital. This technology also provides added security since the cardholder maintains possession of their card. Transactions under $25 don’t require a signature or receipt so your cardholder enjoys fast “in and out” convenience.

Many members want to view their credit statements, bills and other financial obligations online. PayLynx StatementSource™ from PSCU Financial Services delivers electronic statements through a bill payment site branded by your credit union but hosted by us, or a CheckFree-hosted site. Our service is powered by CheckFree's popular and proven online statement delivery platform. With our solutions, your members can elect to pay their credit card bill via phone or at your online bill payment Web site. We also continue to process statements that are mailed in to three regional centers across the United States.

Payment Processing

With PSCU Financial Services' payment processing, cardholders have the option to mail payments to strategically located lockbox locations around the country, or take advantage of online or pay-by-phone methods.

Pay My Credit Card Bill

Our Pay My Credit Card Bill Solution allows cardholders to pay their credit card bill and perform a host of other credit-card-related tasks anytime, and at no charge, using your credit union’s InfoLinkSM site. Users of the Pay My Credit Card Bill service can make "on-demand" payments at their convenience and can make an ACH deduction from a cardholder deposit account.

Pay by Phone

Cardholders also appreciate the convenience of making a credit card payment from their checking account with a single call at anytime of the day or night to our Contact Center. With Pay By Phone, our representatives take the required account information from the cardholder and activate the payment. This service reduces the number of late payments by offering "payment on demand" for a nominal charge.

Annual Activity Summary Solution

The Annual Activity Summary provides your cardholders with an itemized year-end  list of all the transactions on their account in functional categories, such as merchandise/retail purchases, travel/lodging expenses, groceries, ticket/events, gas/automotive and restaurants.  This money management tool aids your members in budgeting household expenses, identifying business expenditures and preparing for taxes. 

Our Annual Activity Summary Solution offers these key features and benefits:

  • Provides cardholders with a helpful, easy-to-use money management tool.
  • Eliminates the need for cardholders to keep individual receipts.
  • Provides answers to cardholders’ year-end questions, which may reduce the number of calls your service representatives receive.
  • Itemizes all transactions for the previous year within each category allowing for quick, easy member reference.
Credit unions will receive all members’ account summaries via Rownet. Summaries can be generic or can carry your credit union’s logo.  Enhance loyalty and satisfaction by giving your members a convenient, comprehensive summary of card usage for the previous year.
Travel Accident and Baggage Delay Insurance

Address travelers’ increasing demands for security with Travel Accident and Baggage Delay Insurance for MasterCard and Visa programs. This insurance covers accidental death and dismemberment; trip delay; trip cancelation; emergency evacuation; and a baggage delay benefit that reimburses cardholders for the emergency purchase of essential items. This coverage applies to domestic and worldwide travel and includes acts of terrorism. All family members are insured if the covered credit or debit card account was used for all ticket purchases.

This program is administered by DFS&A Insurance Agency and therefore requires minimal involvement by the credit union. A variety of coverage levels are available.
