Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run Raises $1 Million for Children’s Miracle Network

The 36th Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run exceeded its goal by raising $1.036 million in donations for Children’s Miracle Network—the highest contribution in the run’s history. This year 130 sponsors representing 30 states were involved, including 83 credit unions and 47 affiliated organizations.

The April 6th run hosted 12,000 runners—nearly half were members of 63 credit union teams. Credit unions also stepped up in a big way to provide volunteers to help with organizing the race as well as nearly 650 volunteers that served on race day. More than 600 Capitol Hill runners also participated.

CMN is an alliance of 170 children’s hospitals across North America that treat 17 million critically ill children annually. Since funds are distributed to hospitals in each credit union’s community, each participating credit union can publicize these contributions. This local publicity helps raise awareness for both Children’s Miracle Network and the credit union.

PSCU Financial Services underwrote the title sponsorship for the first time this year to enable every dollar generated through the credit unions and affiliated organization sponsors to be directed to the benefit of children in need in their local communities. “We work each day at PSCU Financial Services under the mantra of Shared Visions and Shared Values,” said David Serlo, President PSCU Financial Services. “We share the vision that our collective strength can achieve more than any of us can do our own. We also share values that to be a part of a community, we must give back. When we join in a common cause like CMN, we can achieve great things for our community.”
