Risk Management Services
Fraud Risk Identification Service (FRIS) is the flagship of our Risk Management suite of solutions. FRIS uses neural network technology to create profiles of cardholders’ transaction activity and identify uncharacteristic and potentially fraudulent transaction patterns. Suspicious transactions and cards can be blocked to help prevent fraud losses. Real time scoring of Signature debit and PIN-secured debit transactions help detect and block fraudulent transactions quickly and more efficiently. FRIS Real Time Scoring employs the technologies using Fair Isaac Corporation’s Falcon™ neural network-based modeling to obtain a transaction fraud risk score during the authorization process. Card issuers may define authorization rules to use the transaction risk score to decline potentially fraudulent transactions. Real Time Scoring also offers a flexible and customizable card portfolio authorization-blocking feature to define rules that can block transactions using various data elements contained within the authorization message. Toll-Free Lost/Stolen Reportingprovides your members with 24 x 7, 365 days a year access to report lost/stolen cards, fraudulent activity or to simply verify a questionable transaction. Specialized Contact Center Representatives are always available to assist your members one-on-one. Our bilingual representatives are available 24 hours a day.Card Activation requires each cardholder to activate new and reissued cards upon arrival. During the embossing phase, a card activation sticker is affixed to the debit/ATM card and includes directions and a toll free number to call. The cardholder is authenticated and the card is activated based on account record information. Mail integration reduces the potential for plastics to fall into the wrong hands by merging new and reissued cards with other mail on a daily basis. Card Value (CV) Validation for Signature transactions reduces the risk of counterfeit cards by enabling the use of MasterCard’s Card Validation Code (CVC) or Visa’s Card Validation Code (CVV) encoded on the magnetic stripe of the card as part of the authorization process. Similar support is available for Internet or mail/telephone transactions using CVC2/CVV2. Card Value Denial Threshold for Signature and PIN transactions help protect against “brute force attacks.” Card Value denials are monitored and counted based on your selection of number of denials within a defined timeframe. Address Verification Service (AVS) reduces fraudulent mail and telephone order transactions by verifying the cardholder’s billing address before completing the transaction. Card Not Present (CNP) velocity protects against unauthorized MO/TO or Internet transactions by establishing a maximum number of CNP transactions within a defined timeframe. Name Mis-match provides additional protection by verifying the cardholder’s name on Track I against the name on the account record during the authorization and decision process. Card Expiration Mis-match reduces fraudulent POS and mail and telephone order transactions by verifying the cardholder’s expiration date on file against the authorization request. Member Selected PIN solution provides flexible participation options to fit the needs of any credit union. A credit union can choose to offer the Member Selected PIN solution through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and/or through ATM terminals.
